VENUES
NO:ID Small Pond Gallery
31 Commercial Road
This is probably the biggest smallest gallery in the East End. Adjoint to Cafe Fresh (nice food and drink, btw), it features approximately 12m of wall space, and a shop window.
The venue got flooded due to a leaking roof that remained unfixed for a prolonged period of time, so that the floor boards started coming off. We had to cancel all future exhibitions are not using this venue any more until further notice.
[Info on exhibiting here]The focus is on emerging artists, but some really established artists have been exhibiting here too, proving that location and shape of the space are inspiring. There are many of big fish in this small pond, so was said.
The space is perfectly suited for solo shows, and the wall space has proven appropriate to present art in a variety of interesting ways. It seems particularly interesting for photography and painting, though installation and sculpture artists have made good use of it as well.
We usually encourage solo musicians to perform on private view, as NO:ID Gallery is always trying to challenge the boundaries between forms of art.
